So...

I have an astronomy lab once a week. The girls at my table are mostly art majors. Luckily there is one girl who is into math and physics, (don't know her major), to help us out with the math parts because we always struggle a bit.

One girl was especially struggling and kind of joked about how this is why she's an art major and didn't take Algebra 2 (because she didn't have to), and another art major agreed and said she's more hand's-on and so it's hard to compute things like math.

Well, our teacher overheard and made some comments about how math is "just a foreign language" so if we're struggling with it, we're just lazy, (eh, maybe... lol). He heavily implied that everybody can be on the same level at math... that people aren't born with different talents, (kind of doubtful about that).

Then he smirked and said,"There's a reason why mathematicians get paid more than artists," and walked away, leaving most of us enraged.

I'm not even an art major but that comment upset me because it was basically saying that if you aren't working in math or science, you're just a lazy loser that deserves low pay. It's also implying that everything besides science and math is worthless.

I could write a whole essay about how that's so wrong, but what are your thoughts about it?

(Personally, it shocked me that someone with a PhD, who works in such a logical field, would even think something like that. Just another reality-check for me that even "smart" people aren't perfect I guess... I like that teacher so it was especially upsetting to me.)

My little sister, Fuzzie-Peach, is doing a contest for her Korean language camp.

Her photo is 3rd from the bottom on the right side. She has the dark blue snowflake blanket.
Click the circle next to it and submit if you want to help out and vote for her! ^.^

Thanks!

First week of college completed!

I just have it Monday, Wednesday and Friday... I'm only taking English, Psychology, Choir, and Astronomy.

Astronomy is the biggest class and the only one I made a friend in haha. It's only difficult when I have to solve math-type problems because my brain works pretty slowly for those. My friend reads them once (they're word problems) and knows what to do right away, but I have to sit there and read them like 5 times... >.<

English is just annoying because I already know everything but I have to write essays that have boring topics. (A narrative memoir about something that happened within 24 hours. Does she know how boring my life is..? Ugh.)

Choir is fun because the teacher really gets excited when we do something right. The only annoying thing is the religious music, but that's kind of to be expected in choir since they consider it "classical" or whatever.

Psychology is interesting, but I'm still trying to figure out the teacher. She's pretty sarcastic so she's either pretty funny or seems snobby lol.... It depends.

And I'm still not sure what degree I'm getting.
I was thinking psychiatrist or psychologist with an East Asian Study & American Minority degree, but I'm still leaning towards the business and hospitality degrees to go into the hotel business >.<
On the other hand, I might still want an art degree... so yeah haha.

My husband asked me what I would want to do if I only had 6 months to live and was sure I couldn't fail. That would be traveling the world, so I think the hotel business would be best for that. I'm just worried that I like the idea of it more than actually running it, which essentially means I'm afraid of failing.
That's a bad reason not to do something, so yeah. Leaning towards business and hospitality lol, but I still can't be sure! >.<
At least I have about a year to figure it out since I have to take generals first.

Thanks to all that commissioned me and stuff!
With that, I was able to get gas for my car to get over to do a medication study in the next town over.
I'm here for another week and then I'm going back to the study for another week... and with the money from that, we should definitely be fine until my husband gets that license he needs to start that new job! :D

Whew! It's such a relief when things work out...
Thank you so much guys! >.<

Just wrote this, but I don't know where it went lol...

I need $150 ASAP so my husband can get his insurance license to claim his new job.
Our savings are depleted because it took so long for the government to fix the mistake they made when he was getting his first license.
Our bills are dangerously behind because his boss decided to steal his sales before we noticed, (it's legal to shuffle sales at that office. It's meant to help newbies getting started, but his boss uses it to be lazy and not have to work himself. He takes some for both himself and his buddy until there's hardly anything left for my husband... even though my husband worked hard to earn it all. Ugh, it makes me so mad to think about it....)

So.

I'm selling commissions again and I'm selling ad space on my blog.

$20 for 3 months.
That's $6.67 for about 90,000 page views... and I'm selling a good space on the site.

Here's the blog for more details -> dramaswhoo.com/2012/10/19/want…

If anybody can make a news article and pass this around, I'd love you forever.
I'm trying on tumblr too, but am generally being ignored so far, (except by one good friend thank god), so yeah >.<;;;

I'm trying to stay optimistic about things and doing all I can.
Unfortunately I can't get a job myself fast enough, (I have been trying, but the interviews generally fall flat when they find out I've been a stay-at-home mom for so long. Hopefully college will change that heh...).

Thanks for anybody's help! :D
